DOG IN A MANGER: A GLORIA TREVISI MYSTERY

A. R. GROBBO

Double Dragon EBooks

September 2005
Mystery

Format: e-book and Trade Paperback

ISBN: 1-55404-392-1

Gloria Trevisi is still providing grist for the rumor mill. Taking a stand against the doctors in a hotly debated article didn't exactly endear her to the medical profession of her local small town. Add to that the looming changes about to occur at the newspaper office where she works and the fact that she just might be out of a job in the near future or at the very least working herself to death!

While on a news job she and a friend, who is a Christmas Food Bank coordinator bringing a special meal to an elderly gentleman, discover his dead body just inside the door, looking not only very dead but grossly distorted. Keeping her cool, Gloria assesses the situation and takes a few pictures from outside the house. So begins another Gloria Trevisi mystery.

For sure, Gloria is determined to find out who caused this man's obviously unnatural death; and again as the motives for killing Reg McIvor surface, Gloria's life is increasingly in danger.

Yes, her husband Tony isn't around much but in this mystery certainly is there when needed which is far more often than Gloria expected. For it seems that a bite from a dog at the murder scene may be lethal for Gloria unless she obtains a series of shots against rabies. The same disease, indeed may even be connected to the murder she is investigating!

Add a few scenes about Gloria's growing chagrin about her ticking biological clock and Tony's refusal to contemplate a bambino due to his own secret yet to be revealed, as well as an old flame pursuing Tony, and you have again another riveting read from talented A. R. Grobbo! Nice work - you keep the reader spellbound to the very last page!
