Every woman wants the best for her husband, right? It's pretty safe to say that such an outlook prevails at the beginning of most marriages. But what happens as the world's business and challenges moves into the marriage and just how is the wife to meet those situations with her partner? Pamela Hines has written a personal, precise, and straight-talking meditation/prayer book to help a wife willing to commit herself to a living a life of blessing and prayer for her spouse. Each prayer is based on a verse from the Old or New Testament of the Bible. It's not too hard to imagine the topics covered in this book, but more important is the unique quality of each chapter on pivotal issues that can take away or enhance the spiritual quality of a husband's world. This author is quite clear about the discipline it takes to keep spiritual focus on EVERY issue. As one reads through these chapters, one begins to know the transforming power of letting go and letting God touch every area of a husband's life. Examples abound such as what and how to pray when others speak falsehood about a husband, when he obviously needs to work less and rest more, when he is faced with the seduction of material wealth over spiritual wealth, when spiritual pride is displaced by excessive self-pride, and so much more. This just might be a great gift to give those about to be married as well as those who have been married for years. It's really about making one's marriage a true ministry for the world as intended by its Creator. Very nicely done, Ms. Hines Reviewed by Viviane Crystal on May 9, 2007 |
