A startling and vicious murder occurs immediately after Belinda Lawrence and her friend/associate, Hazel Whitby, tour a house while looking for antiques. During that visit, they meet the owner of a mysterious tapestry which may or may not be part of a larger tapestry commemorating the relationship between William the Conqueror and others competing for power and favor. Suspects include some very young monks, a couple who may actually be the descendants of those involved in the famous Bayeux tapestry, a cult-like group with mysterious practices and mannerisms, and an innocent clergyman seeking some excitement in a notably dreary day-to-day existence. Brian Kavanagh has done it again, writing a riveting and historical tale rivaling the finest style in the traditional British mystery! Superior in quality, this novel will grip you from first to last page and leave you wanting more from this very talented writer! Reviewed by Viviane Crystal on October 20, 2006 |
