"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways..." While this famous quote may have traversed many decades and centuries before our own with fame, the specificity of those ways is tackled by this witty, creative writer, Aneva Stout. Ms. Stout imagines almost all of the possible scenarios (albeit minus some different scenes) one could imagine about one's discovery of the "greatest love of all." Some of these possibilities are humorously outrageous, some monotonously boring, and some a living nightmare one would do anything to avoid. After all, "You will dream about meeting Mr. Right." Yes, that's right; it's a dream and one that so many females love to fantasize about. But what is there to love and learn about after the fantasy is over and one is about to confront reality about the possibility of an appearance (or lack thereof) about one's future lover? Ninety-four pages of a love story that traverses many paths! It will make you laugh, maybe cry, perhaps want to scream, but finally conclude that it's worth every moment of dreaming when the reality actually hits! And who knows - perhaps Aneva Stout's greatest accomplishment in this very short story is that one may actually learn to relish the process leading to success or failure and all the gradations in between! Adorable, lovely, realistic, and enticing!!! Very nicely done, Ms. Stout!!! Reviewed by Viviane Crystal on October 30, 2006 |
