VIVIANE CRYSTAL

Reviewing books is one way of treasuring and developing the craft of great writing! I began my reviewing life with novels based on the legend of King Arthur, Guenevere, Lancelot, the Grail and the priests/priestesses of the enchanting Isle of Avalon. Yes, that is the background of my reviewer's name, Viviane Crystal!

In the real world I'm the proud mother of two sons and a delightful granddaughter, and I teach High School English at a private academy and direct a Writing Across the Curriculum Center. In my free time, I love taking early or late-day walks along the ocean, listening to all types of music, going to art museums and concerts or just enjoying a cup of coffee in a (where else? *grin*) bookstore alone or with friends. My passion is meeting a new challenge, whether working to teach better, write a better review, or helping someone else to discover his or her gift of creative, purposeful expression. Please feel free to contact me at vivianecrystal@nyc.rr.com if you have any comments or questions about any of the authors, books, or reviews on this site.

BRETT SCOTT

Although I review under the name, Brett Scott... that's actually the name of both of my sons. I wanted to keep me, the reviewer, separate from me, the author. I spent twenty-four years working at a university, specifically with graduate students in the throes of writing their dissertations and theses. I guess that was the impetus for writing my own manuscript. *Laughing*

I recently retired, so now I have lots of time to work and read. It's a thrill! Reviewing has provided me with the opportunity to learn from my fellow authors. Even when I find the rare weaknesses, recognizing them makes me a stronger writer. Because there are so many talented authors seeking reviews, most of what I write is very, very positive, and when I do find problems, I try to be constructive and present my review in a positive perspective. I see no value in devastating an author. Every book is a labor of love and I try to treat them as such.

I'm really happy to have been invited to review on yet another wonderful site.
